지방시는 창립자인 위베르 드 지방시(Hubert de givenchy)가 1952년 첫 컬렉션을 발표한 이후, 1954년 오드리 햅번의 영화 의상을 제작해주며 당대 최고 셀러브리티들의 사랑을 받는 브랜드로 자리매김했습니다. 지방시 의상은 ‘위엄이 손상되지 않고 여성스럽고 섹시한 의상’으로 평가 받았으며, 브랜드 심볼은 절제된 우아함, 프렌치 쉬크, 고딕 미니멀리즘으로 표현됩니다. 1988년 LVMH그룹에 인수 합병되었고, 현재는 구두, 핸드백, 향수, 선글라스 등으로 영역을 넓혀 명성을 이어가고 있습니다.
